Community Remains Free from Covid-19, Flu Follow up, and Heat Wave

To our dearest families and friends,

While Public Health specialists are working to help slow the spread of COVID19, we can say that our community remains free from the virus. We are certainly aware that there is still a pandemic and we continue taking serious precautions. While social distancing is more important than ever, please keep in touch with your loved ones through FaceTime and our social media platforms, such as Facebook and Instagram. We see first hand how our residents are uplifted by contact with each of you.

We know the first, and most important, step in flu prevention is to get a timely flu shot. As we do each year, we will be holding a flu vaccine drive here at The Gardens. It will be happening by the end of the month and we will advise you of the date once it is set. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Brooke Lamotte, our Health Services Director.

Due to extremely high temperatures across Southern California, we continue to remind our residents to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated. Rest assured, our staff members carefully watch for signs of dehydration in our residents during the hot weather. I also want to let you know we have protocols in place in the event of an evacuation order due to fire danger. Due to the poor air quality related to current fires, Public Health urges all individuals in impacted areas to avoid unnecessary outdoor exposure and to limit physical exertion. We ask residents that they keep their windows and doors closed to allow our air conditioning and filtration systems to keep our interior air as clean as possible. Our residents are our highest priority and we are taking extra precautions to protect them from the heat wave and smoke exposure.
