Assisted Living in Van Nuys - the Gardens at Park Balboa is dedicated to providing premier care for our residents facing Alzheimer’s Disease or other related dementia. At Safe Haven we recognize that many of our loved ones are afflicted with the progressive debilitation of Alzheimer’s Disease. Therefore, we believe that there is a need for a special place that provides as much comfort and peace of mind for the caregiver as it does for the loved one.

Safe Haven provides a safe and caring place with all the comforts of home. The community is surrounded by lovely gardens within a secure and protective environment.

We begin with an individual private assessment by our Director of Health Services. Working closely with the resident, their family and physicians, we determine the level of care and assistance they require.

Our Director of Activities designs and tailors social and recreational events focused on the residents’ abilities, while maintaining their independence and dignity. The planned activities include music, exercise classes, cooking classes, and professional entertainers, with outings guided by our caring professional team.

In Safe Haven we have both private and semi-private rooms available, with either a patio or a garden view. The residents enjoy their own cozy living room and dining room, with its own full kitchen, which is separate from the main dining room for the Gardens. Assistance with eating is offered in the Safe Haven dining room. Our professional staff is close by at all times to offer help with bathing and grooming, medications, and any other personal assistance needed.
