Safe Haven Day Program

In line with our goal of providing a high quality of life to those afflicted with Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia, The Gardens at Park Balboa provides a day program for seniors who are not ready for placement in a community, but would benefit from socialization and programming in a secure environment.

The Gardens’ specially trained staff helps engage participants with others in their peer group in a program called HAPPINESS, which is designed to promote dignity, sense of purpose and – most of all – fun! The program not only keeps it’s members engaged, but it gives family members a respite and the peace of mind that their loved one is safe, well taken care of and challenged to live their best possible life.

The Gardens offers two “tracks” of programming; one for higher functioning participants and one for high acuity participants, which ensures an appropriate experience regardless of a person’s level of cognitive impairment.
